In Chinese culture dragons are very important so in some festival we use some symbol of dragons. For example, on Dragon Boat Festival (the fifth day of the fifth Chinese lunar month) we have dragon boat racing, it has today become the highlight of all the festivities held during Dragon Boat Festival. When the race begins, all we can see are the rowers of each team driving their boats forward and in the boat one person beats drums. The winning team is the one that first grabs the flag at the end of the river. The energy and excitement of the race attracts thousands of spectators, who watch from the river bank cheering on their favorite team. In Chinese New Year we have Dragon Dance, rarely seen in western exhibitions, with two troupes of dancers twirl the dragons. In these festivals we can see why and how the dragons are important to us.

The thing I enjoyed the most was the paragraph that was about the Chinese culture and the holidays. I was fascinated of how you do dragon races and the first one to the flag to grab it was the winner. Do you participate with the boat racing?
I also liked how you celebrate with the dragon. That was really cool. I did a report on the Chinese New Year so I sort of knew how you do this but it was trendy to learn more about it!! I really like the Chinese New Year. I like how the people do the dragon dances. I’ve seen the Chinese New Year in the past on the History Channel. I think it’s the wildest festival in China. We don't join the dragon boat race actually because only young men or women can row the big boats. We're too young to do it. Hope one day, when we are old enough, we can row the dragon boats! The dragon boat race is very exciting. So we always watch the race on Dragon baot Festival and cheer for the team!
